Amed / Tulamben Bali Area Guides
Amed & Tulamben hotels and villas on our reservations site generally will not need your credit card details or ask you for an advance deposit, plus we donate our earnings to charity. Amed is actually a beach area comprising of several villages, Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah and Selang, all of which are relatively unspoiled in comparison with other Balinese tourism areas. The beach itself is nothing special, black volcanic sand and not much of it, but the area has a very relaxed feel to it mirrored by the range of lodgings and accommodations available to tourists. With a few luxury hotel rooms, most of the hoteliers offer very basic backpacker type bungalows to mid range and boutique rooms and villas. Amed makes a very good base for exploring and touring neighboring Amlapura (water palace) and even Tulamben, famed for its Liberty Wreck scuba diving. Several smaller hotels often dive operator based have sprung up in Tulmaben itself in recent years, although the majority of travellers favour Amed.
